A professional development nerd with an innovation problem
I’m a passionate problem-solver with a strong appreciation for personal growth. In 2015, I graduated from Georgia Tech for the second time. Unlike many who pursue expertise in a single area of study, I have received my B.S. in both Industrial Design and Mechanical Engineering, with an additional Certificate in Marketing. The ways these disciplines interact to create meaningful user experiences is fascinating to me and I aim to add value in business by developing empathy for not just end users, but also goals of cross-functional team members and stake-holders. I am a lifelong student of design and business, demonstrated in the way I spend my personal time. I enjoy digging into books that give a deeper understanding of topics of interest and am a constant observer of human interaction and design…you can ask my wife. I’m consistently redesigning our home, revisiting our budget, reinventing myself as an athlete, and applying design thinking to every area of life. I enjoy change and opportunities to improve or enhance my own life and the lives of others.
I am very happily married to my wife Sunny, with our two children, Tate (4) and Abigail (18 months). We enjoy living in our 1960’s home just north of Atlanta which is our constant fixer upper, but we are having fun making it our own. Cooking and racing is a family affair as we pursue big athletic goals in the sports of running and triathlon. As a former collegiate swimmer, I have come to value the continual progression of developing as an athlete, eating healthier, and using sport as a parable for life. When I’m not training or competing in triathlons, I also enjoy home projects, photography, and coffee! You can find out more about how I combine my passion for triathlon and design thinking on my other website, triathletebydesign.com
