From small design firm to corporate R&D
Ideation & Visualization
Having a background in both Industrial Design and Mechanical Engineering, David has developed an aptitude for developing complex solutions by thinking on paper first. Through the use of lateral thinking techniques, sketching, and modeling, it is possible to explore solutions to challenges with greater breadth and depth utilizing a combination of unique skillsets.
Modeling & Exploration
This is the pivotal phase in the design process for David. When a concept receives a strong visual and shows promise, David goes to work to test it and make it fail. Often in the form of proof-of-concept prototypes, building several models with the incremental addition of complexity we can fail, learn, rebuild, and repeat until satisfaction.
Strategy & Roadmapping
Understanding trends in the market, evolving technology, and most importantly, consumer insights, David has provided leadership with guidance on strategic direction for future product lines. David enjoys the challenges of generating a roadmap using backcasting techniques and filling a funnel with innovative product ideas.
A professional development nerd with an innovation problem
David is a passionate problem solver and life-long learner who has adopted a growth mindset in every area of life. While at Georgia Tech he received Bachelor of Science degrees in both Mechanical Engineering and Industrial Design, as well as, a Certificate in Marketing. He is constantly adapting and learning new tools and processes to achieve the desired outcomes in a wide variety of projects. In his most recent roles, he has been combining a technical aptitude and knowledge of market trends to generate future-facing product ideas and sell them internally through the using of models and compelling visuals.
